From Tarry Clark a lady you can be proud of

Thu, September 30, 2010 10:10:16 AMStanding up to special interests
From: "Rep. Chris Van Hollen, DCCC" Add to Contacts
To: Arnold schwertman

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Dear Arnold,
In the face of fierce opposition from the special interests, the House of Representatives passed the DISCLOSE Act earlier this year. This act will shine a light on political expenditures and ensure that shadowy special interests, sham organizations, and dummy corporations cannot mislead voters. I was proud to be the lead sponsor of this important legislation.

We need more people in Congress who are willing to stand up to the special interests rather than with them, and that's why I'm also proud to support Tarryl Clark.

I hope I can count on you to do whatever you can to help her win in November.

Tarryl's opponent took big money from Wall Street then voted against financial reform that will hold the industry accountable; she took hundreds of thousands from big insurance companies and then voted to let them continue to discriminate against those with pre-existing conditions.

And when it came to the DISCLOSE Act, Tarryl's opponent once again sided with the special interests who seek to influence our elections.

We can do better. And with Tarryl, we will.

Your support for Tarryl Clark before the critical September 30 deadline will help make sure she continues to have the resources she needs to compete and win.

Families in Minnesota want someone who stands with them, not the special interests. That's what they'll get with Tarryl Clark - who's already proven that she's willing and able to take on the special interests and win. That's what we need in Congress these days.

I hope you'll dig deep and support her campaign with a contribution of any amount before the September 30 deadline.

Sincerely,

Rep. Chris Van Hollen (D-MD)
Chairman, DCCC

P.S. - As you know, Tarryl has raised more money than virtually any other Congressional challenger in the country, but her opponent continues to rake in the cash from her special interest allies and ultra right-wing national base. Help Tarryl grow her grassroots support with a donation today!

Bill White for Texas

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Arnold,

Our momentum is building towards Election Day, just 34 days from now.

Yet many Texans still aren't sure who they're voting for in the governor's race. Voters who know something about me support me.

You can shape this race by letting undecided voters know there's a real alternative for our state's future.

We don't have much time. We must reach out to undecided voters before early voting starts on October 18.

Sign up to help us identify undecided voters, and help get our supporters to VOTE EARLY.

We need your help. Thank you for setting aside some time in the coming days to move Texas forward.

Respectfully,

Bill White

sean hannatity vs you

Full ViewSean Hannity vs You
From: Lauren Beecham Add to Contacts
To: Arnold schwertman

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Dear Arnold,
Last week, FOX News personality Sean Hannity gave $5,000 to Michele Bachmann's campaign - and so did Mrs. Hannity. That's a lot of money from Bachmann's favorite network!

In four days, we'll reach the end of the third fundraising quarter of 2010 - the last before Election Day - and we need to send a message that we're raising the money we'll need to beat Bachmann, Hannity and their brand of divisive politics.

We have an ambitious goal to raise $200,000 online by the end of the quarter, and your $500, $50, or even $5 contribution will make a big difference.

Hannity joins a laundry list of special interest contributors - Wall Street, big insurance companies, big banks - who are bankrolling Bachmann's campaign.

But with only four days left before the last deadline of this election, we have a bigger weapon than the special interests. We have you.

Last quarter, you helped us set, raise, meet, and exceed one of the most ambitious online fundraising goals in any Congressional race. And now, we need your help to do it again so we can keep the pressure on Bachmann for the next five weeks.

Can Tarryl count on you to make a contribution today?

We can let Hannity and the special interests buy this seat, or we can stand up, fight back and win in November. It's up to you.

Thank you for your support!

Lauren Beecham
Finance Director
Friends of Tarryl Clark

P.S. With only four days left in the quarter, Tarryl is counting on you to step up, dig deep, and help her fight back. Please contribute what you can today.

1 of 2 What should we do about Climate Change
It's hard to believe that there are educated people who continue to deny global warming. Just this year we have seen floods in Pakistan, China and the United States, record heat in Russia, massive ice melts in the Arctic ... and the list goes on and on. Not to mention this has been the warmest on record. And we're likely in store for more next year.

This video shows a glimpse of each disaster and asks us to do our part to stop global warming.

Protecters of wild life

Full ViewPolar Bear Eviction
From: "Rodger Schlickeisen, Defenders of Wildlife" Add to Contacts
To: texas_long_horn2005@yahoo.com

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Save the Lives of
Polar Bears

Polar bears like this one are losing their homes, vital habitat and the sea ice they need to live.

Make an emergency donation now to help save the lives of threatened polar bears and other imperiled wildlife.

Dear Arnold,
It all starts with a home. A caring polar bear mother tends to her cubs in the Arctic, teaching them the vital skills they’ll need to survive.

Unfortunately, right now Big Oil is effectively campaigning to evict these beloved bears from their homes, pushing for oil and gas operations in crucial denning habitat, championing disruptive drilling in the waters where they hunt and fueling climate change that’s pushing U.S. polar bears to the brink of extinction in the wild.

Help save the lives of polar bear mothers and their cubs and protect the habitat they need to survive. Please make an emergency donation right now.

To fund our emergency efforts for polar bears, we need to raise $15,000 by Wednesday (September 29th). With your help, we’ll…

Fight renewed efforts to drill in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge – the most important onshore denning habitat for America's remaining polar bears;
Safeguard crucial polar bear habitat in Alaska’s Western Arctic Reserve;
Push federal officials to fast-track a ban on endosulfan, a deadly poison that threatens polar bears; and
Champion legislation to address climate change and help polar bears survive in the wild.
The fate of America's polar bears is at stake.

Onshore oil and gas operations can disturb the dens of polar bears, causing mothers to orphan their cubs. Offshore drilling operations and climate change can make the already-difficult search for food even more so as stable sea-ice melts under their feet.

The result: cubs abandoned to die and polar bears drowning and starving as key habitat is lost to climate change and Big Oil’s ceaseless drive for bigger profits.

U.S. scientists say that polar bears could be extinct by the end of the century. [1] Cub mortality is increasing. [2] And there have even been reports of polar bears resorting to cannibalism in their desperate search for food. [3]

Help save polar bears. Please donate now.

We’re going to the mat to prevent the extinction of these beloved bears. We’re not only fighting to preserve their homes, but also working to ban toxins that threaten them. And we’re fighting efforts by the Safari Club International and others to re-open a loophole that would allow the importation of polar bear parts killed by U.S. sport hunters in countries where such killing is still legal.

We can win this fight, but we need your support for these important efforts. Please join our fight to save polar bears… their very lives depend on your help.

For the Polar Bears,

Rodger Schlickeisen
President
Defenders of Wildlife

Defender Wildlife

Last Friday, Defenders delivered more than 50,000 comments, urging the Environmental Protection Agency to fast-track a ban on all uses of endosulfan, a persistent poison that threatens America’s fragile polar bear populations.
So far, more than 41,000 Defenders have spoken out against harmful oil and gas development and other activities that threaten crucial polar bear habitat in Alaska’s Western Reserve.

Edit Report Full View An Irish Wake for Fake Jim From: "Carrie Lucking, Friends of Tarryl Clark" Add to Contacts To: Arnold schwertman Dear Arnold,
Michele BachmannMichele Bachmann is up on the air with (yet another) attack ad this week, and for the second week in a row, "Fake Jim" the Election Guy is nowhere to be seen.
It seems to be official: Bachmann's Fake Jim is off the air. People in the 6th District weren't buying what Fake Jim was selling. No longer will he mislead Minnesotans, or attack Tarryl Clark for supporting policies that Bachmann also supported. Despite his challenges with the truth, we'll all miss Fake Jim.
In fact, the Real Jims were so broken up about Fake Jim's demise that they wanted to pass along this memorial video to all of you.

The Real Jims have indicated that in lieu of memorial flowers for Fake Jim, they would very much appreciate a donation to Tarryl Clark's campaign.
We know, of course, that Michele Bachmann's lies won't stop, even if Fake Jim is off the air. With no record of positive accomplishment to run on, it's clear that her attack ads won't either. That's why we're going to work day and night for the next 39 days to hold her accountable for her do-nothing record in Congress.

Dear Arnold,

Cuts to Social Security to reduce the deficit?

Not on AARP's watch.

But we need 2,500 donors to support our campaign by September 30.

Imagine being in this situation:

You've worked hard all of your life. On each and every paycheck stub, you see a deduction for Social Security.

But as you prepare to retire, the benefits you've earned are cut to pay off a deficit that Social Security didn't cause in the first place.

I don't ever want to write the email reporting that this situation has become a reality for you and millions of other Americans.

But the deadline for the Fiscal Commission's recommendations is quickly approaching and the next few weeks are critical for our campaign to protect Social Security.

We need the resources to continue this fight – please make a $5 gift today to help us win the battle to protect Social Security against unfair cuts.

For years, your hard work has contributed to Social Security. You've fulfilled your part of the contract – and you expect Congress to do the same, by providing you with the retirement benefits you've earned.

Yet those benefits are under attack. The Fiscal Commission has put Social Security benefit cuts on the table, and Social Security opponents are busy spreading myths and misinformation on Capitol Hill and beyond.

It's up to us to set the record straight. Congress must know the facts: that Social Security hasn't contributed one penny to the federal deficit, and shouldn't be targeted for budget-driven cuts.

That's why AARP is targeting key lawmakers and educating the public through print ads, grassroots action, and coalition building. We're running a hard-hitting, aggressive campaign – but to keep going, we're counting on 2,500 more donors to contribute by September 30.

Your gift can make the difference – please donate $5 now.

Social Security is a sacred promise to all Americans. But to make sure this promise is kept, we all need to give a little, too. Please, give what you can before September 30.

Thank you.

Sincerely,

Barry Jackson

Bill White for Texas

arnold,

I surprised a lot of friends when I publicly endorsed Bill White.

After all, I don't endorse a lot of candidates -- the notable exceptions being my late husband, Senator Lloyd Bentsen, and our nephew, Representative Ken Bentsen.

But Bill White's in a league of his own. Having known him and his wife Andrea for years, I can tell you firsthand what an intelligent, thoughtful and charming couple they are.

That's why I'm pleased -- but not surprised -- that Bill's been doing so well in the polls lately. More and more Texans are realizing he's the right man at the right time to serve the people of our great state, just as Lloyd did as senator.

Please join me in supporting Bill White before the crucial fundraising deadline tomorrow night.

My husband Lloyd proudly heeded the call to public service and felt fortunate to represent the people of Texas. Bill White would lead Texas in much the same way -- as a public servant who's in it for Texas.

Bill White has earned my respect as a person and as a leader. He is a visionary with the drive to succeed and solve problems. He looks at all sides of an issue and studies it closely before arriving at a decision, as a governor should.

Bill will manage the state of Texas with integrity, inclusiveness and commonsense.

Please make a contribution today and help him earn the support of more and more Texans.

Thank you for doing whatever you can to support my friend and a one-of-a-kind Texas leader, Bill White. He will move our state forward.

With warm regards,

B.A. Bentsen
Wife of Former Senator Lloyd Bentsen

Defenders of wild life

Protect the
Western Arctic Reserve

The Western Arctic Reserve is important habitat for caribou, beluga whales and America’s remaining polar bears.

Urge federal officials to provide maximum protection for the homes of polar bears, migratory birds and other wildlife living in the Western Arctic Reserve.

Please hurry! The deadline for public comments is this Friday!
Dear Arnold,

Alaska’s Western Arctic Reserve is home to one of the nation’s largest caribou herd, millions of migratory birds and America’s remaining polar bears.

It’s an amazing place with vast complexes of lakes, rivers and streams that empty into the Arctic Ocean -- and we need your help to protect the magnificent wildlife found there.

Take action now. Urge the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) to provide maximum protection for the homes of polar bears, migratory birds and other wildlife living in the Western Arctic Reserve.

In 1923, the Western Arctic Reserve was set aside as an oil and gas reserve. Since that time, however, no oil development has occurred in the reserve and only sporadic exploration activity has affected the region.

But since the 1970s, the reserve -- the largest single unit of public lands in the U.S. -- has also been managed to protect the exceptional wildlife and habitat it contains.

The special areas within the reserve are key habitat for our struggling polar bears, important calving grounds for one of Alaska’s largest herds of caribou and home to the largest concentration of brown bears in the Arctic.

Thousands of beluga whales feed and give birth off the shores of the Western Arctic Reserve. And its productive coastal wetlands provide millions of migrating birds with the habitat they need to survive.

The Bureau of Land Management is working on a new management plan for the entire reserve -- and we can help ensure that these amazing places are protected.

Urge federal officials to safeguard Alaska’s Western Arctic Reserve’s special places from harmful oil and gas exploration.

Unique areas like the fragile Teshekpuk Lake, the Utukok River Uplands and the Coleville River -- and the diverse wildlife that depends on them -- are especially sensitive to harmful drilling and cannot be replaced.

Please take action today -- the deadline for comments is Friday, September 24th.

Together, we can ensure a lasting future for our wildlife and our most special wild places.

Sincerely,

Karla Dutton
Alaska Program Director

From Jerme bird

Thu, September 16, 2010 4:45:30 PMTuesday: Talk to Texas voters in Garland
From: "Jeremy Bird, BarackObama.com" View Contact
To: Arnold schwertman

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Arnold --

Republicans have made it abundantly clear what we'll see if they take control of Congress:

-- A possible government shutdown that would stop Social Security and Medicare checks from being sent;
-- Attempts to repeal our hard-fought victories on health insurance and Wall Street reform;
-- A new Speaker, John Boehner, with a history of handing out lobbyist checks on the floor of the House of Representatives; and
-- Endless partisan gridlock and investigations into ginned-up controversies.

Working together, this movement can make sure that doesn't happen, and we'll do it the same way we elected a president and passed comprehensive health insurance reform -- by talking with family, friends, and neighbors about the importance of voting to move America forward.

OFA volunteers are getting together to do just that this Tuesday, September 21st in Garland -- can you join us?

Here are the details:

What: Vote 2010 Event

Where: Jamie Dorris for State Representative Campaign Office
4125 Broadway Bld,
Garland, TX 75043

When: Tuesday, September 21st
4:00 pm

If you can't make that event, see if there's another one near you.

This event in Garland is part of our ambitious Vote 2010 plan to reach out to 15 million voters before the November elections.

We've gotten a great start.

But, now, with just 47 days left until November 2nd -- and with early voting starting in some states next week -- we don't have a moment to lose as we kick into high gear.

Please join us this Tuesday, September 21st. We have so much left to accomplish, and we simply cannot afford for America to move backward to the failed policies that Republicans will push for if they win.

RSVP here to talk to TX voters in Garland:

http://TX.barackobama.com/Vote2010Events

Thanks, and see you out there,

Jeremy

Wed, September 15, 2010 3:00:43 AM48 Hours to Stop 6 Years of Polar Bear Poisoning
From: "Caroline Kennedy, Defenders of Wildlife" Add to Contacts

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Say “No!” to
Polar Bear Poisoning

Threatened polar bears, frogs and other wildlife are highly susceptible to the poison endosulfan. Yet, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) plans to allow this poison to remain on the shelves for another six years.

Help save wildlife! Urge EPA Administrator Lisa Jackson to fast-track the ban on the deadly poison endosulfan.

Lethal to Amphibians

Endosulfan is lethal to threatened northern leopard frogs and also dangerous for farm workers and others who are exposed to it.

Take Action Now.

Dear Arnold,

Endosulfan is a deadly chemical that is highly toxic to polar bears, amphibians and farm workers. The Environmental Protection Agency approved its ban in June.

So why allow endosulfan to remain on the market for another six years?

Urge EPA Administrator Lisa Jackson to fast-track the ban on the deadly poison endosulfan.

Public comments are due to the EPA on Friday (September 17th), so we only have two more days to send EPA this simple message: Ban endosulfan now!

Endosulfan is highly toxic to birds and mammals and very highly toxic to aquatic animals -- both vertebrate (fish, amphibians) and invertebrates (mollusks, insects, gastropods).

EPA has documented that endosulfan can travel thousands of miles from the areas where it is used and that it is one of the most abundant organochlorine pesticides found in the Arctic.

Polar bears, for example, are particularly at risk. Endosulfan is a highly persistent pollutant that accumulates in polar regions and collects in the fats of seals and other polar bear prey. It was in part due to the high levels found in these animals that led EPA to take action this past June.

Help save polar bears. Take action now.

The sooner we get rid of U.S. uses the better.

Polar bears will benefit, but so will farm workers who apply the chemical. All of us will benefit -- endosulfan is one of the most commonly detected pesticides in U.S. water. Kids in particular will be better off given their vulnerability to the effects of pesticides.

In fact, endosulfan is an endocrine disruptor, and low dose exposure while in the womb is linked to autism and birth defects.

Let’s get rid of this awful chemical. Please take action now.

For the wild ones,

Caroline Kennedy
Senior Director, Field Conservation
Defenders of Wildlife

P.S. We don't have much time to make our voices heard, so please forward this message to a friend…

Arnold --

We've been written off before.

I saw it firsthand in Iowa during the 2008 caucuses. Polls had us down. The national TV pundits told us for months there wasn't a chance that then-Senator Obama and his supporters could pull it off.

But we did.

And it was person-to-person organizing that helped turn the tide -- talking to voters, getting our message out, and doing exactly what they said couldn't be done.

The game plan is the same this year -- in his Vote 2010 campaign update, David Plouffe made it clear how Organizing for America is going to make the difference in close races across the country.

Get the game plan from David, and, if you can, please chip in $5 or more to help build the team that will prove the pundits wrong in November:

Edit Report There are 2 forces at work in the United States the progressive and the regressive; the progressive want to find a better way and standing still while others are moving forward in unacceptable every one else will be leaving us behind. the regressive are happy with what they have they don't care if they are taken advantage of because they don't know any better. and they want there kids Educated in a one room school house; like they did in the 1800s then we would never know whether or not they have the bisic skills or not .but of course what you don't know can kill you too. There won't be any doctors or they will be taught with out dated books and when some thing new shows up they will be stumped because new information wasn't available to them; engineering will suffer too for the same reason and so will global warming. we will never find a better way to fuel our cars or power our houses; so global warming will get worse; but that why don't need the regressive i agree we need to go slowly to find better ways to power up our homes and fuel our cars and move products from place to place. with out putting gasses in the air that will kill us in the process; and you never know where that next great idea will come from. but it seem unlikely to come from some one who can barely read and write or only knows basic math and science don't you think. that's why we need progress leaders that have more on there mind then getting elected to office and the kick backs they get from the Special interest groups; that spend million of dollars to lobby congress into giving them what they want.and the corrupt politicians that don't care about any one other then them selves and there masters. who think greedy is cool; they took away the rules That would have prevented the Wall Street and insurance clasp; what if they decided to take away the E PA and allowed companies to bury toxic chemicals or radio active material where ever they wanted too . people would die of course but would they care of course they wouldn't unless it were them or there family how much is a life worth too you.

There are 2 forces at work in the United States the progressive and the regressive; the progressive want to find a better way and standing still while others are moving forward in unacceptable every one else will be leaving us behind. the regressive are happy with what they have they don't care if they are taken advantage of because they don't know any better. and they want there kids Educated in a one room school house; like they did in the 1800s then we would never know whether or not they have the bisic skills or not .but of course what you don't know can kill you too. There won't be any doctors or they will be taught with out dated books and when some thing new shows up they will be stumped because new information wasn't available to them; engineering will suffer too for the same reason and so will global warming. we will never find a better way to fuel our cars or power our houses; so global warming will get worse; but that why don't need the regressive i agree we need to go slowly to find better ways to power up our homes and fuel our cars and move products from place to place. with out putting gasses in the air that will kill us in the process; and you never know where that next great idea will come from. but it seem unlikely to come from some one who can barely read and write or only knows basic math and science don't you think. that's why we need progress leaders that have more on there mind then getting elected to office and the kick backs they get from the Special interest groups; that spend million of dollars to lobby congress into giving them what they want.and the corrupt politicians that don't care about any one other then them selves and there masters. who think greedy is cool; they took away the rules That would have prevented the Wall Street and insurance clasp; what if they decided to take away the E PA and allowed companies to bury toxic chemicals or radio active material where ever they wanted too . people would die of course but would they care of course they wouldn't unless it were them or there family how much is a life worth too you.

protectors of wild life

Wed, September 8, 2010 11:42:48 AMIs killing endangered wolves patriotic?

Help Stop Illegal Wolf Killings.

Anti-wolf extremists are calling for illegal killings to reduce wolf numbers using slogans like "Take two down in the evening...and call no one in the morning!"

Donate today to help save the lives of wolves and other wildlife.

Dear Arnold,

They’re calling for a war on wolves in Idaho.

In response to Defenders of Wildlife’s recent court victory restoring life-saving protections to endangered wolves in the Northern Rockies and Greater Yellowstone, anti-wolf extremists are now urging their followers to illegally kill wolves.

The threat to our wolves is very real, and we need your help to save the lives of wolves in the Northern Rockies and Greater Yellowstone.

Please make an emergency tax-deductible donation now to support our efforts to stop illegal wolf killings and protect other imperiled wildlife.

Anti-wolf extremists are claiming that killing one of America’s most iconic animals is patriotic. [1]

But there is nothing patriotic in flouting the laws that preserve America’s natural treasures. And there is nothing patriotic about destroying such an ecologically important animal.

Help us fight anti-wolf extremists in 2011. Please donate now.

With your support, we’ll fight to…

Uphold the Endangered Species Act by working with law enforcement and federal officials to find and prosecute lawless wolf killers;
Build support for wolves in Greater Yellowstone and the Northern Rockies through media outreach, public education and collaboration with local conservationists and others; and
Use proven non-lethal methods to allow wolves and livestock producers to coexist.
We can’t save the lives of wolves and other imperiled wildlife without your help. Please renew your membership today with a tax-deductible contribution through our secure website.

For the Wild Ones,

Rodger Schlickeisen
President
Defenders of Wildlife

P.S. The sooner you donate, the sooner we can put your contribution to work saving endangered wolves and other imperiled animals and the habitat they need to survive!

Please make a secure contribution now online or call 1-800-385-9712 to donate by phone.

Arnold --

From the day President Obama took office, Democrats have worked to rebuild our country's economy, put into place the basic financial reforms needed to empower and protect consumers, and lay down a new foundation for growth.

Republicans made a different choice: They locked arms with the special interests and voted to protect the insurance companies, credit card lenders, and bankers on Wall Street.

The GOP embraced a singular goal: opposition to the President's agenda.

Now Republicans are scheming to win back Congress. With a majority, they'll do everything they can to reverse the progress Democrats have made. They'll turn back the clock on behalf of their special interest friends, their big donors, and the extreme right-wing elements that have taken over their party.

But we have a plan to beat the GOP.

Since May, we've been focused on an unprecedented push to elect Democrats who will fight alongside President Obama. With the help of supporters like you, we've launched the strongest, most sophisticated effort this party has ever put together for an election like this.

The special interests don't fund it -- our Vote 2010 campaign relies entirely on supporters like you.

Can you chip in $5 or more to power this work?

Republicans have promised to repeal health insurance reform and roll back new consumer protections -- but it won't stop there. Across the country, the GOP has nominated a set of right-wing ideologues who are vowing to undo the victories won by our parents and grandparents -- the promises those generations made to the future.

Republicans are supporting candidates like Nevada Republican Senate nominee Sharron Angle who believe the United States should leave the United Nations and that we should shut down the Department of Education.

They're working to elect conservatives like Alaska Republican Senate candidate Joe Miller who argue that unemployment benefits are "not constitutionally authorized" and that we should end Social Security.

They're fighting for people like Kentucky Republican Senate candidate Rand Paul who believe that civil rights should be up for debate in this country because they think that businesses should have the right to discriminate based on race, gender, disability, or any other factor.

We all understand the consequences of this election.

That's why grassroots Democrats are knocking on thousands of doors every week. That's why we have a goal of reaching out to 15 million voters by November 2nd.

Americans have a choice to make with this election, but from now until November, we're going to work to make our case.

Can you help out? Donate today:

Governor Tim Kaine
