One of My friends reported that Bring back the sanity was a success;All of you who took the time to go to Washington you have my thanks and gratitude for helping. But now is the time to put a little mussel behind the rally by getting out there and vote ; our problems will not go away by them selves. And we need clear headed leaders in Washington and state houses to deal with the problems that we have and won't try to drive us back into the dark ages. We have already been there and done that ;and there is no reason to go back there again.

We still have and average Unemployment rate of 10% that need to be delt with and a health care bill needs our help to survive the on-slot of the Republican party that want to repeal it .and like I said before they want your Social security put back into the hands of Wall Street the same group we bailed out a couple of years ago; and i still have a problem understanding the logic behind giving Our retirement money to the people that we had to bail out; if you can answer that please leave a comment and explain that one to me.And why should we give tax break to companies that Export jobs to Indigo China?So they can manufactor it there and sell it here at a larger profit. And do away with the minium wage completely; does this sound hair brained to you ? it does to me any way;

I'm a socialist that believes that this government should work for it's people not just the special interest groups. that corrupt our government and change Washington from a place of respect to a Whore house where if you got the money my soul is for sale to the highest bidder; that's no way for a government Of the People by the people and for the people to run.We can start out by getting rid of a few of the Craziest or stupidest in congress now like m.s. Bachmann and that dummy from Nevada that would be a good start. Oh yeah we aren't giving away Health care but we are trying to help you and small business afford it by giving you tax breaks and make the health care insurance industry play by rule that won't let them bend you over because you are sick by declaring your illness a prexisting condition so they won't have to pay it. and rule on Wall Street So we won't have to bail them out again. Tuesday November 2 will tell the tale as to where we are going

When Barack got back from a recent campaign swing, he couldn't stop talking about how every supporter he met was fired up.

From amazing crowds at his rallies with great candidates like Harry Reid and Barbara Boxer to meeting some of the OFA volunteers who are part of this effort, he couldn't be prouder of what you're doing.

And continuing that organizing in these final days -- with person-to-person conversations on doorsteps and on the phone -- is the single most important thing that any of us can do to ensure we're successful at getting out the vote.

There are thousands of phone banks and canvasses happening as part of get-out-the-vote efforts through November 2nd to make the difference in tight races across the country -- can you make it out in Garland?

The last time he was in Washington, the former Congressman repeatedly voted against the environment and even tried to end the federal program to save gray wolves in the Southwest from extinction in the wild. Had he succeeded, there would have been no choice but to capture or kill the wolves that had been reintroduced in the wild.

Now Pearce is running for Congress… again. And Defenders of Wildlife Action Fund aims to stop him… again.

But now Pearce is running for his old House seat again. Worse, the latest polls have him in a virtual dead heat with current Congressman Harry Teague, a Defenders of Wildlife Action Fund-endorsed candidate and environmental champion. [2]

As a Member of Congress, Pearce made wild, inaccurate claims about wolves to drum up fear – falsehoods like wolves being most attracted to the sounds of crying babies (a patently false claim he then cited as expert testimony on the floor of Congress).[3]

But Pearce isn’t just bad for wolves.

As our hard-hitting new TV ad points out, he was twice named one of Washington’s most corrupt members of Congress by the independent group Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington. [4] And he took more than a million dollars from oil companies like BP [5]… before voting for billions in tax breaks to Big Oil. [6]

A "smoking gun" memo just surfaced showing how Rick Perry has abused Teacher Retirement System (TRS) funds to raise political contributions.

The memo shows how the friends and donors Perry appointed to the TRS board steered hundreds of millions of teacher retirement dollars -- and millions in fees -- to firms run by campaign donors.

The result? Fees skyrocketed while investment performance plummeted, putting 1.2 million retired educators in jeopardy. Meanwhile, the TRS chairman at the head of it all is now Rick Perry's campaign finance chair.

Early voting is currently underway and runs through October 29! Let your voice be heard by choosing the candidates that best reflect your views on the issues most important to you.

At AARP, we're here to help:

During early voting, you don't need to vote in your precinct. You can cast your ballot at any early voting site in your county. Choose the polling place and time that's most convenient for you. 3. Come Prepared

Bring your voter registration card with you to cast your vote. Lost or misplaced it? Be prepared to show another form of identification, such as your Texas driver's license card, a birth certificate or a passport.

Early voting is currently underway and runs through October 29! Let your voice be heard by choosing the candidates that best reflect your views on the issues most important to you.

At AARP, we're here to help:

See where candidates stand on the issues most important to you with our voters’ guide, which includes the Texas governor and U.S. House races. 2. Vote Early
During early voting, you don't need to vote in your precinct. You can cast your ballot at any early voting site in your county. Choose the polling place and time that's most convenient for you. 3. Come Prepared
Bring your voter registration card with you to cast your vote. Lost or misplaced it? Be prepared to show another form of identification, such as your Texas driver's license card, a birth certificate or a passport.

Many counties now use voting machines. Find out which machine your county uses and learn how to use it before you go to cast your vote. While you’re at it, know your rights as a registered voter in Texas.

Don't forget to vote! Can't vote early? Don't forget to go to the polls on Election Day, Tuesday, November 2.

The St. Cloud Times, the largest daily newspaper in Minnesota's 6th District, today endorsed Tarryl Clark for Congress. This conservative-leaning paper is widely read in the district, and their endorsement means a great deal. They know what you know - Michele BachmannMichele Bachmann is serving the special interests, not her constituents. And as the newspaper that knows Tarryl the best, they know that Tarryl will be on OUR side in Congress.

Our View: Bachmann isn't serving district's best interests

Minnesota's 6th Congressional District is diverse. It features rural, agricultural edges; vast stretches of exurban areas; an overload of suburbs; and enough urban pockets to raise eyebrows.

Growth-related challenges abound, and this recession - fomented by the bursting housing bubble - didn't help.

All of that is why the district needs a U.S. House member who puts constituent service first. Sadly, after four years in office, Michele Bachmann has proved with unabashed consistency that serving 6th District constituents is essentially her last priority.

Come Nov. 2, voters should replace her with Tarryl Clark.

Regular Our View readers shouldn't be surprised by this endorsement. This board in April of 2009 wrote off Bachmann's desire to serve the voters who elect her.

We cited then three years worth of her rash, ridiculous, unsubstantiated, misleading and fear-mongering statements about national issues. We also noted - and this is important - her lack of any realistic solutions. In the 19 months since then, Bachmann has only refined an age-old political recipe: mix equal parts of fear and blame that raise your personal profile yet yield only sound bites, not solutions.

She does it so effectively (and relentlessly) that she's become a grass-roots tea party heroine even while supporting a public policy agenda that helps entities that are anything but grass roots. Best example: In the wake of America's financial collapse, do you really think Bachmann's push to leave Wall Street alone was in the best interests of 6th District voters?

Also, look districtwide and we challenge you to find something - anything - that Bachmann has helped achieve or a cause she has helped advance. Much like her legislative ideas, we see nothing of substance. In fact, these past four years renew our appreciation for House representation that provided this area with voices like Collin PetersonCollin Peterson and Mark KennedyMark Kennedy. Sure, they have their partisan allegiances, but they realized when it was time to set those aside and do what was best for the district, not themselves.

Residents of the 6th District deserve a return to that philosophy. Clark is the person to provide it because in four years, Bachmann has proved she is incapable of such efforts.

The St. Cloud Times, the largest daily newspaper in Minnesota's 6th District, today endorsed Tarryl Clark for Congress. This conservative-leaning paper is widely read in the district, and their endorsement means a great deal. They know what you know - Michele Bachmann is serving the special interests, not her constituents. And as the newspaper that knows Tarryl the best, they know that Tarryl will be on OUR side in Congress.

Our View: Bachmann isn't serving district's best interests

Minnesota's 6th Congressional District is diverse. It features rural, agricultural edges; vast stretches of exurban areas; an overload of suburbs; and enough urban pockets to raise eyebrows.

Growth-related challenges abound, and this recession - fomented by the bursting housing bubble - didn't help.

All of that is why the district needs a U.S. House member who puts constituent service first. Sadly, after four years in office, Michele Bachmann has proved with unabashed consistency that serving 6th District constituents is essentially her last priority.

Come Nov. 2, voters should replace her with Tarryl Clark.

Regular Our View readers shouldn't be surprised by this endorsement. This board in April of 2009 wrote off Bachmann's desire to serve the voters who elect her.

We cited then three years worth of her rash, ridiculous, unsubstantiated, misleading and fear-mongering statements about national issues. We also noted - and this is important - her lack of any realistic solutions. In the 19 months since then, Bachmann has only refined an age-old political recipe: mix equal parts of fear and blame that raise your personal profile yet yield only sound bites, not solutions.

She does it so effectively (and relentlessly) that she's become a grass-roots tea party heroine even while supporting a public policy agenda that helps entities that are anything but grass roots. Best example: In the wake of America's financial collapse, do you really think Bachmann's push to leave Wall Street alone was in the best interests of 6th District voters?

Also, look districtwide and we challenge you to find something - anything - that Bachmann has helped achieve or a cause she has helped advance. Much like her legislative ideas, we see nothing of substance. In fact, these past four years renew our appreciation for House representation that provided this area with voices like Collin Peterson and Mark Kennedy. Sure, they have their partisan allegiances, but they realized when it was time to set those aside and do what was best for the district, not themselves.

Residents of the 6th District deserve a return to that philosophy. Clark is the person to provide it because in four years, Bachmann has proved she is incapable of such efforts.
